Imagine you’re playing at the playground and there’s a cool, wobbly bridge over a sandbox. If you step off the edge, you’ll land softly in the sand. But if you get too close to the edge, it might be a little scary because you’re right on the brink of falling!
The brink is like the very edge of something, the point where things could change drastically. It can be used for happy things too! Imagine you’re about to open a present – you’re on the brink of discovering what’s inside!
So, “brink” means being right at the edge of something, whether it’s a scary fall or an exciting discovery.
